Kol Nidrei transcribes beautifully for the double bass and the sonorous and soulful
qualities of the instrument create a wealth of tone colours and contrasts throughout
its solo register. Aimed at the intermediate bassist, there are musical and technical
challenges aplenty, creating a worthy addition to the transcription repertoire

Finnish Sketches is a series of eleven colourful and evocative works for unaccompanied double bass. Nine last around one minute each and the final two are longer, and all were composed for Teppo-Fest 2016 to celebrate the 75th birthday of the Finnish bassist-composer Teppo Hauta-aho (1941-2021).
