Jules Massanet

French composer Jules Massenet (1842-1912) composed more than thirty operas, alongside oratorios, ballets, orchestral works, incidental music, songs and piano music. He taught composition at the Paris Conservatoire, became one of the leading French operatic composers of his day and there has been a resurgence of interest in his music throughout the 20th-century.
